The peeing tree as rendezvous--who knew? Frazee's compositions and hand-lettering almost make me want to call this a graphic novel. The illustration style has something about Virginia Lee Burton wrapped up in it. I enjoyed the restraint on point of view, leaving everything in the dog's world even though the narrator is omniscient. The illustration on the last spread is the one where she nails this down--ensuring we don't see this as the 'my dog is so cute' owner as the narrator.
